As you enter for medical treatment?

My nephew lives in Pakistan has kidney disease and I want him to come to Italy for treatment, because my doctor says that there are more possibilities here. How do I do?

Rome - July 23, 2010 - Your nephew can come to curasi in Italy, but you must apply for a visa for medical treatment at the Italian embassy in your country.

First you need to get send all medical records of your nephew and their translations. With the documentation you can pick it from a public health facility or private arrangement with the NHS, which will assess the situation and will then issue a statement indicating what kind of medical intervention will be made. In addition to the type of care and intervention, the declaration must contain the start date and estimated duration, the length of the hospital and indicating the estimated cost.

Your nephew may require a visa for another person, for a companion.

Please note that all of the cost of care will be paid entirely by the patient, and in fact at the time of visa application must demonstrate that they have paid at least 30% of the estimated cost. The deposit in euro or U.S. dollars, representing 30% of the total estimated cost of the services required, must be paid at your choice.

Your nephew or another person if he is incapacitated, must go to the embassy and apply for a visa for medical treatment and must demonstrate: the declaration of the hospital in Italy pointed to the type of medical intervention provided, the costs and the start date and length of stay; must demonstrate that they have paid at least 30% of the estimated cost and also its capability covering the entire economic health expenditure even with the cost of meals and lodging for both him and the passenger spending on the return.

Must also present throughout the certification of the disease from which he suffers to be accompanied by a translation into Italian.

The residence permit is then issued that will last the entire length of the treatment and may be renewed until the last documented medical needs.

I'll note that there's also the possibility to enter Italy for medical treatment under the so-called humanitarian programs that you enter in Italy, approval of the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this way, then the local health centers and hospitals, through the regions shall be reimbursed for expenses that are borne by the National Health Fund.

These are the regions through the welfare programs they authorize, in agreement with the Ministry of Health, local health authorities and companies and hospitals to provide high performance in favor of specialization: a prevenient citizens from non-EU countries which do not exist or are not readily accessible to medical-specialist in the treatment of specific serious diseases and are not in place reciprocal agreements related to health care, or citizens of countries whose particular situation at hand does not make it feasible for political, military or otherwise, any existing agreements with the NHS for health care.

Now if we can understand the pathology of your nephew is part of a program of humanitarian intervention, I suggest you ask the health care facility that you have identified.
